Berg has built an international reputation through publishing in Anthropology, Fashion, Cultural and Media Studies, Film, Food, Design, Interior Design, Textiles, and Visual Culture.
We publish a wide range of different books: large introductory textbooks and readers, advanced level undergraduate and graduate texts, cutting-edge monographs, books designed for a general readership, desk-top and library reference, and journals.
Proactivity is important to us. In 2002, we undertook a management buy-out. We're committed to remaining free of the production-line approach to publishing which plagues most corporates. Since the buyout, we have increased the number and range of books and journals we publish, moved offices, added staff, re-branded, and signed agencies throughout the world. We have also greatly expanded our electronic publishing activities.
Even more important than all this activity, however, is our continued commitment to author care. Ask any author on our list about his/her experience of working with us and we feel certain you will get a glowing report. Our authors mean a lot to us. We believe in quick turnarounds, personalized service and a commitment to each individual book.
