About Left Coast Press

Left Coast Press, Inc., is a new publisher of academic and professional materials in the humanities, social sciences, and related disciplines. It publishes for scholars and students in academic settings, professionals in cultural institutions, and members of the general public with a more recreational interest in those fields. An important part of their mission is to provide tools for individuals and institutions who are putting the humanities and social sciences into practice, including state and local historians, museum specialists, historic preservationists, cultural resources managers and archaeologists, environmental professionals, cultural policy analysts, educators, public health workers, and applied anthropologists, among others. Left Coast Press was launched in March 2005 by Mitch Allen, founder and former publisher of AltaMira Press, and former executive editor of Sage Publications.
